Tree Removal
As ISA Certified Arborists, we have a passion for trees, and fully comprehend the value that they represent to our clients. Unfortunately, sometimes removal is the only appropriate solution. Whether all plant health care or maintenance options have been exhausted, the tree is no longer appropriate for the location, or it is starting to pose a hazard to you or your property, we will develop a comprehensive plan to safely and efficiently remove your tree. Our team of ISA Certified Arborists are experts at removing trees in O’Fallon, St. Charles, and the rest of the St. Louis metropolitan area. We specialize in large and hazardous tree removal, and can use different methods to safely remove your tree while protecting the rest of your property. Once your tree is removed, we can provide thorough stump grinding services to ensure your landscape maintains the best possible aesthetic. Our team will ensure that your yard is meticulously cleaned and back to display ready. After removing your tree and stump, one of our ISA Certified Arborists can help you select the best possible tree if you decide to replant.
Our Methods for Tree Removal
Our ISA Certified Arborists develop removal plans utilizing many of the best techniques in the industry. Four of the more common methods we rely upon are felling, climbing & rigging, aerial lift & rigging, and crane assisted removal. Our planning process determines which method of removal is best suited to overcome any jobsite variables such as, limited equipment access, power lines, vehicle or pedestrian traffic, and close quarters urban environments. We have extensive training and experience in all of these methods of tree removal, and we are confident that our expert team of ISA Certified Arborists can safely and efficiently remove your declining tree whilst ensuring that your yard and home are protected from any unnecessary damage.

Felling
Felling represents the most traditional and economical method of tree removal. When the site allows for it, and there is no risk of damaging structures or landscapes, our expertly trained ISA Certified Arborists can employ felling techniques to safely expedite tree removal.

Climbing
Many tree removals are inaccessible to tree removal equipment, and must be removed by a climber. When working in close quarters, our team of ISA Certified Arborists are experts in rope access climbing and arboriculture rigging techniques.

Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts such as bucket trucks or tracked man lifts are typically more efficient than a climber, which can often lead to significant cost savings. Aerial lifts are also much safer than climbing when dealing with mechanically compromised or dead trees.

Crane Assisted
When removing extremely large or significantly hazardous trees, crane assisted techniques are often the safest and most affordable option. Our team of ISA Certified Arborists & TCIA Crane Operations Specialists will utilize cranes whenever appropriate to safely expedite tree removal.
Experts in Hazardous Removals
The tree industry is routinely cited as one of the most dangerous career fields in the United States, and tree removals are widely recognized as the most hazardous segment of our industry. Certain tree removal situations include extra hazards that exceed the expertise of most tree workers. That’s where Rooted Arbor Care comes in – our team of climbing ISA Certified Arborists has substantial experience removing some of the St. Louis area’s most hazardous trees. This includes trees with lightning strikes, those uprooted onto homes or lodged into surrounding trees and structures, and trees that pose significant risk of mechanical failure. Whatever the situation, we can design a site-specific removal plan to safely and efficiently eliminate hazards. As a result of our expertise, we have been called on to train other arborists throughout the country, have contributed to multiple industry publications, and have been contracted to perform highly hazardous removals for state governments outside of Missouri.
Signs your tree may need an evaluation by an ISA Certified Arborist:
- Obvious signs of insect infestation
- Branch tip die back throughout the crown of the canopy
- Appearance of fungal growth on or around tree
- Large dead branches or sections of the canopy
- Obvious signs of root defects: fungal growth around the surface roots, or clear signs of soil heaving around the base of the tree
- The trunk shows signs of structural defects such as cavities, cracks, or splitting bark
- Large hollow spots visible from the ground
- Sudden onset of tree leaning
- Rapid leaf defoliation
- Tree was struck by lightning
In many of these cases, arborist intervention may be able to alleviate or resolve these issues, or they may heal on their own. An Arborist can inspect the tree to determine whether a tree is likely to recover, or if it needs to be removed.

Tree Removal FAQs
It depends! Cost varies greatly based on the size of the tree, equipment access, and the complexity of the removal. For example, a front yard tree is often simpler to remove than a tree in a tight space, such as a backyard removal with limited equipment access.
Absolutely not! At Rooted Arbor Care, we take great pride in our team’s ability to protect your yard from damage, and leave it looking cleaner and better than when we arrived. Unless you request specific material to be left behind, be assured that we will remove or recycle all associated tree debris. We also do our best to protect your lawn from damage due to any equipment used.
This can be a tricky spot. In the state of Missouri, any branch (or root) that is on, under, or over your property is your legal responsibility (There are some exceptions concerning neglect or trees with known or documented hazards) regardless of if the tree originates from your neighbors yard. You have the legal right to prune any tree material back to your property line. With that being said, we as ISA Certified Arborists, don’t typically recommend this course of action. Hopefully you and your neighbor have a good relationship that will facilitate an appropriate pruning solution, alleviating potential concerns about encroaching tree limbs, whilst still maintaining the health, beauty, and sustainability of both your tree and relationship!
As long as weather and ground conditions allow for safe removal of the tree, and we are able to protect your property, we can remove your tree and grind the stump in any season!
Although we take great care to complete our work safely, removing trees is inherently dangerous. Hiring a tree service with liability insurance ensures you’re protected financially if there’s property damage during the job. Workman’s compensation insurance covers injuries to workers, preventing potential legal issues for you as a homeowner. Both insurances provide a safety net and peace of mind. At Rooted Arbor Care, we have both liability insurance and workman’s compensation insurance, and are happy to provide proof of insurance at your request.
